The Power of a Good Laugh | Hey it's Kinza

This morning I looked out my bedroom window and thought 'Wow, what a surprise! Rain! Again! That's great! No really, it's great!' .... It wasn't great. It's crazy how weather can influence your mood so quickly. Just one glance outside and I had already determined I would have a bad day, then someone sent me a hilarious YouTube video (I won't lie, it's VERY RANDOM) but nonetheless it brightened my mood instantly. If you were thought you were going to have a crappy day because of something as little as crappy weather or something that is more serious, then don't underestimate the power of a good laugh because your mood can do a complete 180 degree turn and you could go from being on the verge of tears to having a huge smile plastered on your face feeling like you could take on the world. I hope you're all having a good day :)

ps. here's the video. WARNING: I have a strange sense of humour so you may not (probably will not) find it as amusing as I did.

Orange Ya Glad I Didn't Say Neutral? | Hey It's Kinza

Don't you love a good pun? They always just crack me up no matter how lame or stupid, though, that is beside the point. Today I want to show you a new lip combo that I have been loving. I am someone who mainly wears neutral lipsticks, glosses or stains because they:
1. Are easy.
2. Wear off evenly.
3. Are easy.
4. Don't need reapplying.
5. Are moisturizing/ don't emphasize dryness.
6. Don't draw attention to myself.
7. ARE EASY.

All that being said, I have found myself attracted to this bright and bold duo that is totally something that is out of my usual comfort zone and is completely different from what I usually stick to.

Okay, so now I present to you the stars of the show: L'Oreal Colour Riche Colour Caresse Lipstick in Fiery Veil and the Revlon Just bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous.  Both of these products are a bright orange/ coral colour that work well together.

The Revlon JBKBS is what I apply first because it has a longer lasting power as it is a stain. Then on top I apply the L'Oreal lipstick and I am good to go. The combination of the two is a long-lasting, even-wearing, moisturizing, bright and bold match made in heaven.

Top: JBKBS
Bottom: L'Oreal Colour Riche Colour Caresse
The finishes of these two products are very similar, they are glossy and satin-y.

Have you tried any of these? What is/ are your winning lip product(s)?  How is your month of May so far? Got any puns?

Hope your having a good month! :)

Exploring | Hey It's Kinza

Some photos I found from about a month or two ago.

The water here was really cool because it froze like this!

Face of the Day #2 | Hey It's Kinza

First of all: hear's a better look at my hair again. I've been using a purple shampoo and conditioner and they have toned down more of the orangey tones that were still present in my previous post.

Secondly: sorry for the awful lighting. You can't really see much on my face today, but I thought it would be fine as the look I'm wearing isn't all that spectacular.

I decided that I could not be bothered to mess around with eye shadow today so here's is an example of something that I would throw on when I'm feeling lazy but don't want anyone to notice.

Products:
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz (a little dark but shhhh)
YSL Variation Blush in #2
YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy in #10
Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder in 030 Medium
GOSH Brow pen in Dark Brown
Maybelline Greatlash clear mascara (as a brow gel)
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch highlighting concealer in Radiant (WAY too light so I mixed it with the my tinted moistuizer to create my perfect colour.)
Physicians Formula liquid liner
Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes waterproof mascara
Benefit Watt's Up highlighter

What's something that's been on your wishlist?

Ombre

Recently, I decided I wanted to change up my hair a bit as I was bored. I have become pretty attached to my long locks and didn't want to part with them just yet. And since I naturally have very very dark brown/ black hair I am very limited in the colours I can dye it. Sooooo I decided to ombre my hair!

I did this at home with the L'Oreal Feria Wild Ombre and I love the results. My hair isn't orange/brassy but rather a caramel colour. My hair is also not as damaged as I thought it would be. The conditioning shampoo that the kit came with left my hair feeling so soft and the application was very easy!

I didn't want a very drastic ombre just yet, but I can see myself intensifying it later on.

Have you used this kit before? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Eye Love Mascara | Hey It's Kinza

I thought I would share a mascara combo I've been LOVING lately. As a mascara hoarder I am constantly buying & trying new mascaras and finding new ways of using them to achieve different looks. Recently, there has been a combination of two mascaras that I have been really impressed with and they are both from Maybelline! The two of them are the Colossal Cat Eyes and The Rocket, both from the Volum' Express line.

They are have extremely different wands that do different things (duh). The Colossal Cat Eyes mascara has a wand similar to Covergirl's Clump Crusher in size and shape, except it has bristles instead of being plastic. The mascara  lengthens a bit and makes your eyelashes very defined and "spikey" rather than fanned out.

The Rocket does the opposite and makes your lashes have a ton of volume by making it look like you have a ton of lashes! The wand on the rocket is very similar to Covergirl's Lash Blast Volume.

The way I use them is by using a coat of The Colossal Cat Eyes first to lengthen and separate them. I find that lengthening mascara make a great base. Then I go on top of that with The Rocket. Make sure you apply it right after while the first coat is still wet to avoid clumps or flaking! I usually work from eye to eye because I find it much easier.

**I use the waterproof versions of both of these as I find it hard for my eyelashes to hold a curl**

All in all I really enjoy the result I get when using these together. My eyelashes look long, full, separated, and a bit more dramatic.
Ps. I do enjoy these mascaras alone as well :)

Have you tried any of these?
What's you're favourite mascara?
